COVID -19 | The Situation

Rio Church exists to love God, love people, and make disciples who do the same.  With the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and the fears associated with it, our mission remains the same.

However, we meet in a school, and Governor Lujan Grisham recently called for all schools to be closed for 3 weeks, beginning Monday, March 16th and ending April 6th.  The hope is to help slow the spread of the virus and end any threat sooner rather than later.

With that being said, Rio Church would like to take this opportunity to love our neighbor and protect those who may or may not be immunodeficient.  This particular virus is not extremely dangerous for most, but it is contagious and can be passed on without even knowing you have it.  We believe the best way to love people in this situation is to avoid meeting together in person until more information is available.

We believe it is good and right to meet together as a body.  In Hebrews 10:24-25, we are told to  “24...consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

However--we live in an amazing time and have the ability to meet online.  This is a TEMPORARY solution, as we expect to be back together soon.

In the meantime, follow the link provided below, grab your family, your roommates, or your friends, huddle up (you can even wear your PJ’s), and watch this week’s sermon when it goes live on Sunday morning!
